Hosting Luna Cortez, Tobi Ibitoye and Benay Gözkaman, the event was held on Zoom on October 23, 2020 with an aim of discussing on contribution of music to individual and societal peace.

Youth and Radicalization: Causes and Results

We organized an online webinar through Zoom on October 15, 2020 where Prof. Dr. Ayhan Kaya from Istanbul Bilgi University talked about the definition of ‘radicalization’, its historical roots and the causes and effects of youth radicalizations.

Dreaming for Peace: Inclusion of 4D

This webinar was held on September 21, International Day of Peace (2020) with an aim of drawing attention to the challenges experienced by young people belonging to various disadvantaged groups. The event was moderated by Hemra Nida Kose, and four speakers: Elif Kain, Rabie Kharbout, Bahattin Turnalı ve Burcu Uçuran. These four speakers discussed and shared about the difficulties faced by disabled people, refugees, women, and Romani minority people.

Youth’s Role in Peacebuilding: What UNSCR 2250 Means?

By organizing this webinar, we aimed to raise awareness about the United Nations Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 2250 which our youth initiative was inspired by in its founding. Held on September 8, 2020, the event featured Dr. Aslı Özçelik Olcay from the University of Glasgow where she elaborated on the role of the youth in peacebuilding and conflict prevention.

Being Young in Turkey

Our first activity, a webinar titled “Being Young in Turkey” was held online on September 2, 2020. It was held through Zoom due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Our guest was the Chairman of the Association of International Relations Studies of Turkey (IRST), Mr Burak Yalim. The topic of discussion during the webinar focused on the common challenges faced by the youth in Turkey.
